Different ways to pay
Rail ticket
Tickets can be purchased from machines at rail stations with cash or credit cards. Keep your ticket available to show to a police officer as proof of fare payment. Tickets are valid for 2-1/2 hours after purchase.
Reduced Fare rail tickets for seniors (age 65+), youth (age 5-13) and Medicare card holders are available during non-rush hours.
Rail tickets can be used as transfers to buses; however, express or rush-hour changes, if applicable, must be paid in cash.
Go-To Card
It's the fastest way to pay! Get a Go-To Card – it holds up to two 31-Day Passes and up to $200 in stored value.

Event 6-Hour Pass
Taking the train to a game or event? Make your return trip easier with an Event 6-Hour Pass. Buy your pass on the way to the event and you won't have to wait in line to buy your ticket home. Just hop on!
Event 6-Hour Passes cost just $3.50 on weekdays, $3 on weekends, at any rail ticket machine.
Day Pass

Monthly Pass
A Monthly Pass is valid for unlimited train rides at any time for one calendar month. It also can be used as a transfer to cover the first $2.00 of a bus fare. Pay any added charges in cash.

SuperSaver 31-Day Pass (must be activated)
A 31-Day Pass can be used on the train as long as it has been activated on a bus.
SuperSaver Stored Value Card
Stored Value Cards CANNOT be used on trains. If your trip begins on a bus, use your Stored Value Card to pay the fare, then ask your driver for a Rail-Only Transfer, which you can show to a police officer on the trainas proof of fare payment.
Metropass/U-Pass/Go-To College Pass
Bus – Touch your pass to the Go-To circle on the blue card reader as you board.
Train – Touch your pass to the Go-To circle on the card reader (located next to the ticket machine at the station) BEFORE you board. Be ready to present your pass to the police officer on the train when asked for proof of payment.
Transfer
If your trip begins on a bus and you pay your fare in cash, ask for a transfer. Show the transfer to the police officer as proof of payment.
