Officer Richard Raymond started his law enforcement career with Metro Transit Police in 2005. According to Transit Police Chief Dave Indrehus, Officer Raymond has quietly distinguished himself as a consistent and reliable officer, earning the respect and admiration of his peers, supervisors and the community.

"Officer Raymond puts forth a diligent effort each day and inspires a positive attitude among his peers. He continually demonstrates integrity, honesty, and excellence," Indrehus said. "Officer Raymond is a highly effective team member whose performance is always above and beyond what is required, serving as an example for other officers."

In addition to his outstanding patrol work, Officer Raymond is as a member of the Metro Transit Canine unit working with explosive detecting K9 Bosco.

Rollie Martinez

Officer Rolland "Rollie" Martinez has been a part-time Metro Transit Police officer since 2001.

"Officer Martinez has an unmatched work ethic. He is the first officer to show up for a shift, the first officer to volunteer his assistance and the last officer to leave for home," said Chief Indrehus, when presenting the award. "Officer Martinez excels in all aspects, whether he is riding buses, responding to patrol calls, assisting with traffic control at events or checking light-rail fare inspections."

"Officer Martinez represents professional excellence. He is a leader in the law enforcement profession, and is truly an asset to our police department."
